If I'm poorly at Nursery?

Let you know they are unwell but we are happy to keep them in the Nursery, and the decision is yours as to whether you collect early or not.

Request that you collect your child from the Nursery as he/she is very unwell, distressed, and or potentially contagious.

Please ask at the nursery for a copy of the incubation & exclusion times for common childhood infections.

Safeguarding

EYPP:

Children who meet the eligibility criteria will receive the government Early Years Pupil premium funding. This funding is used to support children's learning and development through staff training, outings and resources. In some cases, where we identify children that need support, we have implemented an EYPP+ group to support them.

Safeguarding:

At City Way Nursery we are committed to the safeguarding and well-being of the children in our care. We intend to work together with parents, in the best interest of the child, to create a safe and secure environment for all children at the nursery. All practitioners have a crucial role to play in helping identify welfare concerns and indicators of possible abuse or neglect at an early stage; they are vetted, and DBS checked. We always strive to work with parents however, if it is in the best interest of the child, we are legally obliged to contact outside agencies.

City Way Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and expects all staff to share this commitment. All our staff have the relevant Child Protection and Safeguarding qualifications. We have 5 DSL/DDSL and there is always a DSL/DDSL on site. We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection and safeguarding Policy which can be viewed in the policies section on the Family app.

Our curriculum is tailored to develop and strengthen children's learning from their starting points.
We provide an enabling environment and learning opportunities to build and develop their knowledge as they move through to school. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. We take into account children's interests and practitioners follow children's preferred learning style.

Please Pick Me Up On Time

We realise emergencies do happen but please advise the Manager or Keyworker if you are going to be late as we do have to ensure that the right number of staff are on duty to care for the children. It is for this reason that any child collected after 18.05 will incur a late charge. Please check with the Nursery Manager for our current rates. We operate a password system.

Nursery vouchers are accepted and we work closely with the Medway Early Years Team.

We are Ofsted Inspected and a copy of our latest report is available for your perusal on the website link. Please feel free to come along and see the Nursery during a normal working day by booking an appointment on 01634 845724.

You will be required to sign a contract with the Nursery prior to your child starting at City Way and adhere to the conditions therein.

We look forward to welcoming both you and your child soon!
